Two years ago, this district called on a voice for change to represent us in Congress, but once elected that voice became a voice of do nothing and only listen to the Washington lobbyists. On Jan. 1, 2007, Rep. Dave Loebsack, DIowa, went to Washington to work for people other than the people of Iowa's 2nd District.
He started accepting massive amounts of PAC donations that now are single-handedly running his campaign - $424,000 in PAC donations as of June 30.
It took him 15 weeks to get a relief bill through Congress, but don't give him any credit because of the fact that he had nothing to do with the passage of the bill other than voting "yes." He has now even voted for a bailout package that only 24 percent of Americans support, according to one recent Gallup Poll. He seems to enjoy taking credit for others' work while pandering to the same old Washington lobbyists.
This can end Nov. 4 if you vote for Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, who has a lifelong record and commitment to healing people, whether that is during her 24 years of military service, time spent as an assistant professor at the universities of Iowa and Michigan or numerous years as a private practicing ophthalmologist.
Miller-Meeks can heal this district from the special interests and incompetent leadership that have plagued us these last two years.
