Miller-Meeks Has an Energy Plan Addressing People’s Concerns | Print |  E-mail

Energy costs affect all the people. As the cost of energy rises so does the cost of doing business and in turn the cost of goods purchased. It is a circle.

Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, candidate for U.S. House District 2, has an energy plan. She has endorsed a plan to shift more than 20 percent of America’s electric production from natural gas to wind power. During a visit to the Clipper Windpower in Cedar Rapids she said that converting to homegrown energy sources is in the best interest of the nation’s economy, environment and security.

I can’t find any energy policy statements from Loebsack. I can’t find anything on gas prices. The House of Representatives adjourned so they did not have to discuss gas prices and energy solutions for the people. Iowa Flood Relief was also put on a wait list.

The Democrats in the House of Representatives voted to go on vacation, turned off the lights and microphones and left. The Republicans know that the people’s House should give relief to the people in the way of energy reform. In the dark without amplified sound, the Republicans continued to talk about gas prices and energy plans. Even C-Span cameras were turned off.

We must wait at least five weeks before something is even started for relief on gas prices.

Is this an open government? I don’t think so. Reporters were kicked out of the Speaker’s Lobby where they normally interview lawmakers.

Who is listening to the concerns of the people? Evidently not elected Democrats.
