OTTUMWA – Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, the Republican candidate in Iowa's Second Congressional District, today release her campaign's latest ad underscoring her professional experience while calling attention to her opponent's lack of leadership and his misguided policies.
The spot, entitled "Bad Medicine," will air through the 15-county district on television and radio. It notes that Miller-Meeks is a surgeon who acts quickly and competently when her patients are in crisis.
It continues,
I think we'd all agree America is in a crisis, and we need leadership now. As our economy began melting down, Dave Loebsack waited for the 'only option' his party leadership gave him: a multi-billion dollar bailout rewarding Wall Street greed over Iowa needs. At a time of incredible strain on Iowa families, Dave Loebsack wants to resurrect the death tax, raise your income taxes, and wants Congress to take control of your health care with a massive new government-run program.
You don't have to be a doctor to see that Dave Loebsack's prescription for Iowa is bad medicine. You have a clear choice in this race. If you're happy with the incumbent's prescription, then stay the course. But if you want someone who will change the way Washington does business, and someone who will never forget that the voters are more important than the special interests, then vote for Miller-Meeks.
The ad was developed by Bob Haus of Eagle Media in Urbandale. Haus said, "Voters are looking for someone who can heal our district and our great country. Congressman Loebsack has proven he's not even good at triage, much less preventative medicine. On the economy, health care, and energy, here's one doctor who has the right prescription, Dr. Miller-Meeks."
